The Benefits of the Bosch RH228VC Rotary Hammer!
Now on to the fun part. Let’s have a look at the benefits of the Bosch RH228VC SDS Plus Rotary Hammer. Does the RH228VC have the benefits and features that you are looking for?
Weighing in at only 6.9 Lbs combined with the counter balance vibration control you can expect to use this rotary hammer all day long with very minimal user fatigue.
One huge benefit of the RH228VC is the patented cord turret as you can see in the video above. The cord turret will be sure to reduce wear and tear, breakage and kinking of the cord.
The trademarked Vario-Lock mechanism allows you to lock the chisel bits in 40 different positions which optimizes working angles.
The metal gear cover not only adds to the Bosch RH228VC rugged design but it also runs cooler due to the built in venting system.
As mentioned earlier this beast puts out 2.4 Ft Lbs of impact energy which means that you can drill up to 1 1/8” holes and it will out perform its competitors.
Last but not least is the super handy hammer hook. This means no more having to set this bosch rotary hammer on the ground between uses or setting it down on your ladder and knocking it off. Simply hook or hang it on ladders, 2X4’s or even your tool pouch.
Disadvantages of the Bosch RH228VC!
Honestly disadvantages of this piece of equipment are hard to come by but to be fair we will add that the anti vibration of the Bosch RH228VC could stand to be a little bit better. Maybe adding shocks to the handle would have helped a little, but overall though not too bad.
What Others Are Saying About The RH228VC By Bosch
Here is a couple of reviews from other users of the Bosch RH228VC Rotary Hammer Drill
Frank Says: I previously owned the bulldog extreme however it was not as heavy-duty as I would have liked. So I upgraded to the bulldog extreme max. First off this drill is heavier with an anti-vibration system and more power. The anti-vibration feature is very impressive and I was shocked when I used it first time. The power was not an issue on the plain bulldog but the issue was severe heating of the hammer drive when used non stop for long periods and in my case this led to the drill leaking gear oil though the SDS chuck and other parts of the drill. The bulldog extreme max has a ridged metal plate over the top of the hammer drive for improved heat dissipation and if that was not enough the said plate is vented and cooled by forced air continuously flowing through the vents when the drill is in operation. Also the case of this unit is more sturdy and has more space for drill bits and accessories. I highly recommend this German made drill for the medium to heavy duty user.
Maceo Says: I had the 11255VSR BULLDOG Xtreme and it was nice and worked just fine but I upgraded to the BULLDOG Xtreme Max and it’s a monster and should be called the RAGING BULL Xtreme Max or the PIT BULL XTREME MAX. This beast goes through concrete like it has an attitude and that’s no bull I put it to the test chewing through 3″ concrete like it was mad at something ripping up a bathroom floor and it never did over heat or lost power then I removed the towel wall around the shower and it took nothing but 15 minutes maybe 20 without any problems then I started on the kitchen and it was still running strong. Now that I put it on the line this is my number 1 tool of choice and I can’t wait to put it to the big test whatever that would be and I know it will pass. The best part of this one That makes it different than the 11255VSR is that its made in Germany not Mexico and you can tell by the quality and performance and I can tell its heavy duty so thanks Busch for a wonderful tool.
